Interactive Guide – Get to know the features of your Android tablet with our fun interactive guide. Learn what the different buttons and features do, how to insert or replace your SIM card, and more. Simply click on one of the pulsing circles to see short, easy to follow demonstrations and information cards. We cover “What’s In the Box”, as well as the features on the front and rear of the Tablet.
Prepare to Setup (10min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is the first of two steps for anyone who has just been given a pre-owned Android tablet and wishes to learn how to prepare it for their own safe use. In this first step, you will learn how to erase the tablet and remove the previous owner’s details. This is known as a ‘reset’ and it must be completed before moving onto the second step, the Android tablet: Set up course. By completing both courses, your tablet will be set up and ready to use. Naturally, you should only perform this reset on a tablet that has been given to you permanently, and not one that has been loaned to you temporarily. If you have a brand new Android tablet, or one has already been reset, you can progress straight to the Android tablet: Set up course.
Setup (20min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with a brand new Android tablet, or a pre-owned Android tablet that has been ‘reset’. If your Android tablet is pre-owned and has not yet been reset, you will first need to complete the steps in Android tablet: Prepare to set up. In this course, we will show you, step-by-step, how set up your tablet in readiness to start using it safely.
Security & Privacy (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with an Android tablet who wishes to learn more about the security and privacy features on their tablet. In this course, we show you how to keep your Android tablet secure and your personal information private, including how to set up a PIN and fingerprint security.
Accessibility (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with an Android tablet who wishes to learn more about the accessibility features on their tablet. In this course, we show you how to make your tablet easier to use, including how to increase the size of the text, set up an alert for new messages and calls, use the magnifier glass for reading, and how to use your tablet’s voice recognition feature.
System Settings (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with an Android tablet who wishes to learn more about the system settings on their tablet. In this course, we show you how to customise your tablet so you can make it work just the way you like. We show you how to set up ringtones and alerts, how to select your preferred language, and set the date and time.
Keyboard & Screen (10min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with an Android tablet who wishes to learn more about the keyboard and screen settings on their tablet. In this course we show you how to use the onscreen keyboard, as well as how to adjust the brightness of your screen to make it easier to read.
Network Settings (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – This course is for anyone with an Android tablet who wishes to learn more about the network settings on their tablet. In this course we show you how to connect your tablet to a Wi-Fi network so you can browse the internet, install apps, send messages and more.
Using the Camera (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – Take and share great photos using your tablet’s built-in camera. We show you how to access the camera, take pictures, edit and share them with friends. A must-do course for anyone wanting to get the most from their tablet.
Messages & Privacy (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – Learn how to use your tablet’s built-in security features to block nuisance messages and control who contacts you and when by using the clever Do not disturb feature.
Saving & Sharing Files (12min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – Modern tablets come with a lot of space to save pictures, files and other important information. We show you, step-by-step, how to save those important documents to your tablet’s built-in My Files app, so you can find them easily, even without Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Listening to Podcasts (15min Video, as well as interacting with your Tablet) – Enter the wonderful and relaxing world of radio podcasts (pre-recorded programs). We show you, step-by-step, how to use the free ABC listen app to download and listen to your favourite radio programs.
