Online banking offers you the convenience of accessing your money at any time. This course shows you how online banking works on your computer, smartphone and tablet. We also have our very own pretend bank, Squirrel Bank, where you can practise key online banking tasks like paying bills, transferring money and checking your balance. Courses include:
Getting Started with Online Banking – Managing money using a bank’s website is known as online banking. You can pay bills, transfer money and check your balance, all from the comfort of your armchair. In this course you will learn what you need to know about online banking and how you can stay safer while banking online. To help demonstrate a typical online banking experience, we have created a pretend bank – Squirrel Bank – to use as our examples. Whilst Squirrel Bank is not real, it does give a good idea of how online banking websites look and feel. Of course, your online bank account might look a little different, but you should still be able to follow along.
Online Banking Basics Practice Area – In this course, we look at some of the most common online banking tasks for laptop and desktop computers, such as checking balances, messages, statements and more. To help us get used to how a typical online bank account works, we also have special practice activities for you to hone your skills using our pretend bank – Squirrel Bank. As Squirrel Bank is not a real bank, you can practise these tasks as often as you like in a safe environment and, if you make a mistake, it doesn’t matter as you can always have another go!
Managing Payments Online Practice Area – Building our skills from the previous course Online banking basics practice area, we are going to practise more advanced online banking tasks for desktop and laptop computers. In this course, we focus on transferring funds, paying bills using Bill Payment (BPAY for short), and controlling how much money can be withdrawn from your accounts at a time. Our Squirrel Bank practice areas give you an opportunity to perfect these more advanced skills in a safe environment and, if you make a mistake, it doesn’t matter as you can always have another go!
